A Midday Reflection

  1:51 PM —the clock ticks away as the post-nasi goreng drowsiness sets in, making it hard to stay awake. My mind drifts, and words start swirling in the back of my head. Have you ever wondered if you might be the villain in someone else's story? It's a curious thought, isn't it? We all see the world from our own perspective, and sometimes, others might paint us as the villain in their narrative. People’s minds and memories are selective, and they create stories where we play the part of the antagonist, even if we never intended to hurt anyone. But perhaps there's a certain comfort in accepting this role. After all, we know ourselves well enough to understand that we never wake up with the intention of causing harm. Even when we're hurt, our instinct isn't to hurt back. So, if there comes a time when you find yourself cast as the villain in someone else's story, embrace it.
